ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

Matija Schellander (Austria)
http://matija.klingt.org/
Matija Schellander is an Austrian composer and improvising musician

currently based in Vienna, mostly using double bass, modular synthesizer, and speakers: processing input, moving air output.

In 2012 his solo CD "sum šum" with 7 electroacoustic composition will be released by the small publishing office The Manual (Seoul).

Schellanders current double bass solo project is a three-part performance that incorporates space, movement, light and sound. Conceptual on one hand, it never dismisses the non-rational, sensual communicational possibility intrinsic in music.

Schellander regularly works with Rdeča Raketa (electracoustic duo with Maja Osojnik) and in duos with Enrico Malatesta (percussion / double bass) and Franz Hautzinger (quartertone trumpet / modular synthesizer) as well as thethe ensemble Low Frequency Orchestra (Castello/Grill/Osojnik/Schellander).Other collaborations include Okkyung Lee, Burkhard Stangl, Anja Utler, Isabelle Duthoit, Michael Thieke, Hannes Lingens, Klaus Filip, Choi Joonyong, Metalycée, Andrea Neumann, Katharina Klement, Chris Heenan, Olaf Hochherz, Lukas König, Daniel Riegler, Dieb13, Kazuhisa Uchihashi, Ryu Hankil, Christof Kurzmann, Jin Sangtae, Jorge Sanchez-Chiong, Noid, Bernhard Lang...

noid (Austria)
http://noid.klingt.org/
noid /aka Arnold Haberl *1970, living in Vienna.

He studied cello and mathematics in Vienna, he is teaching at the Multimedia-Art department of the University for Applied Science in Salzburg.

The composer, sound-artist, cello player and improvisor understands his work as fundamental research leading to a wide range of contradictory outcome. Spanning from cello-solo and tape-pieces to compositions for ensembles, improvisation scores or performances with electronic or hybrid instruments, from sound-installations to videos and imaginary music. Also his contributions as a programmer for the freeware "ppooll" (http://ppooll.klingt.org/) can be seen in this context.

This approach lead him to collaborations with visual artists as for instance Alexander Schellow, Heike Kaltenbrunner, Erik Hable or God's Entertainment, several choreographers like João Fiadeiro, Colette Sadler, Akemi Takeya, Philipp Gehmacher, and of course other musicians.

Beside his two long term ensembles "ease" (w/ Klaus Filip) and "b:f:n" (w/ Cordula Boesze und Wolfgang Fuchs) he was performing as an improvisor in various constellations, among others with: Taku Unami, Axel Doerner, Christian Weber, dieb13, o.blaat, Billy Roisz, Carl Stone, Kazuhisa Uchihashi, Burhard Stangl, Hankil Ryu, etc...

He is part of the organizing team of the annual interdisciplinary festival "reheat" (http://reheat.klingt.org/) and the monthly performance series "Der Blöde Dritte Mittwoch" (http://bloedermittwoch.klingt.org/) in Vienna. Since 2009 he is curating the sound-art exhibition in the frame of the festival "Konfrontationen Nickelsdorf". (http://konfrontationen.at/)

About The Artist:

Sima Kim

Sima Kim was born in South Korea and grew up in Europe. He started studying music at 18 years-old and did a degree in musicology after being influenced by western classical and contemporary music. After visiting Germany and India, he started composing music and has had his music released on several labels - Rural Colours(UK), Twisted Tree Line (UK), Cathedral Transmissions (UK), Stuk Label(JP), and Twice Removed Records (AU). His work has also appeared on some compilations, such as future sequence, mu-nest and mizukage records. His main interest is on the sounds, notes and silences within a state of mindfulness.

La'bridge

La’Bridge Music Project was born in Canton and becomes more mature in Hong Kong.

The music of La’bridge cannot be simply categorized as typical technos or instrumentals. Its unique performance unites these two territories with subtle and psychedelic visual effect.

Here is La’bridge, a voyage of the musical imagination of a Chinese girl.

http://www.la-bridge.net/

Yellow Crystal

An experimental guitar and electronics duo formed by Sherman and Heivard.

Sherman plays electric guitar and effect pedals. His debut solo work “Politely We Grow Old” was released by Lona Records in 2006.

Heivard is a musician / sound artist based in Hong Kong. An experimentalist who shapes Ambient, Glitch, IDM and other sonic arts into unpredictable forms. His works have been released by Fwonk*, Inside│Outside and other net labels under creative commons licenses.

https://www.facebook.com/Yellowcrystalhongkong

adeō

adeō happened like an accident... but it goes like a coincidence... everything came into play without acknowledging too much... a matter of sound and the amount of air that pushes through the speakers... "to there" we hailed ... and here comes adeō.

adeō consists Alok (A Roller Control, 31G), Sin:Ned (No One Pulse, After Doom), e:ch (Forget the G) and oetzi.p (31G, A Poison Tree). Raging low ends turn a dull room into a vibrating object, where the guitars splice ... while the air get sliced.

6.29 Kill The Silence Festival @ LMA Macao

Kill The Silence Festival

We have to Kill The Silence. We have no other option. Nothing in between.

The dead space of silence, between us.

2 stages!! 18 performing units from Macao, Hong Kong & Japan!! 12 hours of non-stop killing!!

All these insanity will be happening outside the system. The silence comes from the system, and we can only kill it, outside the system.

You Pay : What You Want!!

Your options: Stay inside the system to be rotten by silence, or jail break and Kill The Silence!!

RE-RECORDS & CIA PRESENTS

ABOUT CULTURE INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION (CIA)
Through our regular programs of concerts, art exhibitions, film screenings, seminars and workshops, it is our hope to bring to you not what have we seen already, but rather how we perceived these ideas, their contexts, and how these seemingly abstract concepts can affect and relate to our everyday lives. To prompt changes, renew our senses and debase our previously fixated point of views, this is the only way to a future – any future away from here. According to Plato, we live chained inside a dark cave; all we can see is the back wall and the shadows that move there. Carl Jung called this his shadow work. That what we in fact seeing are aspects of ourselves that fall over one another. Shadows. Projections. Our associations - of the culture industries.

ABOUT CIA (Cultural Industries Association)

Alfred 23 Harth (Germany)
http://www.alfredharth.de/data/_index.html

Naturalismo (Italy)
www.monstresparexces.com
Previously known as Istituzioni Ambienti Naturalismo. It all starts with a microcassette recorder wandering in Rome subway, taping live cut-up bursts of saturated city life. Shifts to harsh noise that struggles to keep a buried layer of melody. Sometimes fails at it. Explores the sounds of lights, sonorizes short video studies on lenses and lightning. Converts to silent sounds, the breath of small things, the daily tinkling sounds of lived houses. Explores minimalism with irony, always loyal to cheapness and imperfection. Dissects an acoustic guitar with a screwdiver. Keeps going.
