這是日本歷史久遠傳奇迷幻噪音樂隊“酸母寺”的吉他手兼創始人河端一（Makoto Kawabata）和法國地下硬件噪音界鬼才Dj Urine的全新組合。

話說河端一在新奧爾良的一次演出中與Dj urine相識，然後便產生了與其合作的意向。直到現在才有機會真正實施，並斷然以亞洲巡演做為開端。

綜合他們自己寫的介紹：首先,這是河端一在酸母寺之外，個人計劃的一部分。在這個二人組合裡，他主要用吉他製造出一系列刺耳的迷幻DRONE氛圍。 Dj urine作為資深黑膠碟片粉碎達人，日常破壞噪聲收集者，二人將攜手帶來：空間迷幻搖滾與扭曲拼貼的變體，加上被融化掉在異端的琴弦，harsh noise切割摻雜左右。似曾相識的重型硬搖滾風骨影響並遭遇瘋人院致幻劑的調戲，而最終又把一切打磨、揉碎、分散、直至消失在一片超驗的寂靜裡。

Wong Chung-fai
Also known as Sin:Ned, an idiosyncratic improviser, experimentalist, live-visualist, mirco-curator and free-lance writer from Hong Kong. Also co-founder of the experimental imprint Re-Records, member of the electro-acoustic duo No One Pulse, and Advisor of soundpocket.

Being a veteran writer of the legendary Hong Kong alternative music magazine MCB (Music Colony B-Weekly), his writings had influenced a wide spectrum of experimental musicians and listeners. While not writing as a pseudo-music critic elaborating his esoteric worldview, in the same idiosyncratic fashion, he spends much of his time hacking and sculpting sonic materials with his laptop and various non-standard electronic gears. With his on-going experimentation embracing improvisation, noise, errors, chaos and randomness, he has been re-visioning an unorthodox sound-making process expressed in extreme dichotomies, and driven by intuition and direct experience.

He has offered performance and creative work for concert, sound installation, workshop, audio-visual and theatrical performance. He had taken part and performed in various art events such as HK Sound and Vision Festival (2003), Get It Louder (2007), Hong Kong & Shenzhen Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture (2007, 2009), Architecture is Art Festival (2009), Notch Festival 2009 Guangzhou Station (2009).

Active since late 2008. Harshtronic & exclamation adventure of Rolf from Hong Kong who is influenced by early japanoise, free improv and various cutting edge experimental artists, his work mainly focus on challenge of hearing and psychedelic experiences.

dj sniff (Takuro Mizuta Lippit) is a turntable musician working in the field of improvised and experimental music. His music focuses on the live reconstruction and narrativization of the phonographically amplified - the music, the sound, the technology and the past. To achieve this, he uses a unique setup of custom hardware and software along with one turntable and DJ mixer. He hopes he can reflect his influences from Hip-Hop and Free Jazz not stylistically but through an exploration of a distinct instrumental voice and practice.

He is also a concert/event curator for electronic music and a researcher of music technology.

While studying Art History and Philosophy in Tokyo, he was active as a DJ in the underground electronic music scene and formed a collective called smashTV productions which organized genre-mixing events such as anti-Gravity and bistro-Smash!. In 2002, he moved to New York to pursue graduate studies in computer music and physical computing at NYU's ITP (Interactive Telecommunications Program). During this period he released a handful of DJ mixes.

Since 2005 he has been involved with STEIM's (Studio for Electro-Instrumental Music, Amsterdam) R&D lab. From 2007 on, he is STEIM's Artistic Director, guiding the institution's creative output and representing its activities through performing and lecturing around the world.

In 2010, he released his first solo album "the play-back" through Lebanese label Annihaya. During the first half of 2011 his 2nd album based on Evan Parker recordings will be released from Parker's label Psi.

He regularly performs in projects with eRikM, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, Astro Twin (Ami Yoshida & Utah Kawasaki), Adachi Tomomi, Keir Neuringer, Raed Yassin, Yutaka Makino. In the past he has played with Evan Parker, Otomo Yoshihide, Akira Sakata, David Toop, Martin Tetreault, Michel Waisvisz, DJ L?K?O, Ryu Hankil, John Edwards, Mark Sanders, John Richards, and many others.

About the performance:

M is a special improvisation project initiated by Yan Jun and Wong Chung-fai. The first two performances of M were presented in Shenzhen (Neo Sound, 2009) and Beijing (Waterland Kwanyin, 2009). In this debut performance in Hong Kong, M has been expanded from a duo to a trio, with special appearance of avant-jazz saxophone player Li Zenghui.

Advance copies of M, the recordings that documents their Shenzhen and Beijing performance, to be released by Re-Records, will be available at the concert.

Li Zenghui
Born 1983 in Qingdao, China. Relocated to Beijing in 2007. A Saxophone player, poet and voice experimentalist. He is the most promising star in China’s free music / avant-jazz realm. He had found the indie / experimental rock band “the Tipsy Verse” in 2001. Afterwards he held a concurrent post as the keyboard player in “Pipedream Princess”. Also co-founder of “Walnut Room” with Feng Hao in 2007.

Alok
Sound artist, guitarist and bassist. In 2002, he set up his own record label Lona Records, and started working as a producer. From the end of 2002 to 2009, he released 5 albums and 5 cd singles. Phon°noir was also invited to take part in the remix album of Phon°noir, an electronica German artist.

Three musicians from different backgrounds meet in the intersection between acoustic, electro-acoustic and electronic sound qualities. Feedbacks, field recordings and double bass create the raw material, which in pure or processed form is then transformed into a new soundscape. It is a soundscape of dynamic abstraction that invites the audience to enter a state of active listening. Given the distinct background of the three musicians, the musical language promises heterogeneity and multi-dimensionality: noise, drone, lower case electronica, energy, play, research and contemporary composition.

Claudio Rocchetti | Fieldrecordings, Feedbacks
Born1976, in Bozen Italy. After experiencing the straight-edge hardcore scene, he began exploring the many realms of noise. Rocchetti is now working on the composition of cinematic musical landscapes with the aid of old rare records, dusty analogue instruments as source material (old radios, customized turntables, gramophones...).

Klaus Janek
Born 1969, in Bolzano Italy. Studied classical double bass with M. Muraro, Venice, and attended workshops led by D.Holland, P.Kowald. L.Butch Morris. Explores avant-garde music, works on sound research on double bass, and actively involved in the improvised music scene. In addition to the three solo double bass CDs, also published CD of traditional and electronic music (FMP, edel classics, Minor Music, Solponticello, Ubiquity and others). He not only composes music for cinema, theatre and dance theatre, but also is the Art director of various concert series in Italy and Germany. He had attended concert and festival in EU, Russia, Israel, Canada, Japan and USA extensively. Since 2008, he works for Meta Design.

Li Zenghui

About the artists:

Zbigniew Karkowski
Zbigniew Karkowski was born in 1958 in Krakow, Poland. He studied composition at the State College of Music in Gothenburg, Sweden, aesthetics of modern music at the University of Gothenburg's Department of Musicology, and computer music at the Chalmers University of Technology. After completing his studies in Sweden, he studied sonology for a year at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Den Haag, Netherlands. During his education, he also attended many summer composition master courses arranged by Centre Acanthes in Avignon and Aix-en-Provence, France, studying with Iannis Xenakis, Olivier Messiaen, Pierre Boulez, and Georges Aperghis, among others. He works actively as a composer of both acoustic and electroacoustic music. He has written pieces for large orchestra (commissioned and performed by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra), plus an opera and several chamber music pieces that were performed by professional ensembles in Sweden, Poland, and Germany. He is a founding member of the electroacoustic music performance trio "Sensorband." Since 1995 he is based in Tokyo, Japan where he collaborates closely with japanese avantgarde scene. He has extensively toured in Europe, Asia, North America, South America and Australia and his music has been performed at several festivals

Besides working as a composer of contemporary music he has been collaborating with several experimental groups and artists like: The Hafler Trio, Blixa Bargeld, Merzbow, Stelarc, John Duncan, Aube, Tetsuo Furudate, CCCC, KK Null, Antimatter, Francisco Lopez, Kasper T. Toeplitz, Peter Rehberg, Li Chin Sung and has worked on remixing artists and bands like Iannis Xenakis, Clock DVA, Phauss, Jazzkammer, Florian Hecker, TV Pow, Rechenzentrum, Fred Bigot, Fear of God, Nosei Sakata and The New Blockaders.

He has as well written music for film, video, theatre and dance. His scores are published and distributed by STIM in Sweden and until today he has released more than 100 cds by labels all over the World. He is convinced that it is a responsibility of an artist in the present day to travel and work around the World in order to learn and understand different cultures and traditions and discover truth about ourselves and our planet. He also strongly believes that geographical, political and social exile is a necessary condition for true and honest creation. He is not interested in the traditional definition of music, in his opinion, all musical theory and systems as cultural concepts must be destroyed. In his latest work, his main concern is to realize drama with sound - electronic and acoustic walls with the architectures of ruins transcribed in the scores.

Brian O’Reilly
Brian O’Reilly works within the fields of electro-acoustic composition, moving images and noise music. Also he is a contrabassist focusing on uncovering the inaudible textures and hidden acoustic microsounds of his instrument through the integration of electronic treatments and extended playing techniques. He attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago on a scholarship for sculpture during which time he perused independent studies in improvisation and composition with members of Chicago’s AACM. After which he relocated to Paris to research the composition methods of the composer Iannis Xenakis, receiving a appointment as Musical Assistant at Xenakis’ studio. He pursued graduate studies in Electronic Music at the University of California Santa Barbara’s Media Arts and Technology program, where his collaborations with Curtis Roads began with the project “Point Line Cloud” which won an Award of Distinction at Ars Electronica in 2002. As Operations Manager of Recombinant Media Labs in San Francisco He worked on many project for the Asphodel record label & recording studio, and has received several international residencies/commissions including invitations to work as a guest artist at the Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie (ZKM) in Germany, the SH Festival in Shanghai and All Tomorrow Parties festival curated by Autechre in the UK. He has worked on projects with Eliane Radigue, Luc Ferrari, Curtis Roads, Zbigniew Karkowski, Otomo Yoshihide, Matmos, Maryanne Amacher, Zeitkratzer, Christian Marclay, William Basinski, Fe-Mail, Yasunao Tone, Francisco López, Garth Knox, Steina and Woody Vasulka, amongst others. Currently He is performing audio and visuals solo and in the groups Iron Egg & Black Zenith, and is a lecturer at LASALLE’s School of Contemporary Music.

Sin:Ned
Sin:Ned (Wong Chung-fai), an idiosyncratic improviser, sonic artist, live-visual artist, curator and free-lance writer from Hong Kong. Also co-founder of the experimental imprint Re-Records, member of the electro-acoustic duo No One Pulse, and Advisor of soundpocket.

Being a veteran writer of the legendary Hong Kong alternative music magazine MCB (Music Colony B-Weekly), his writings had influenced a wide spectrum of experimental musicians and listeners. While not writing as a pseudo-music critic elaborating his esoteric worldview, in the same idiosyncratic fashion, he spends much of his time hacking and sculpting sonic materials with his laptop and various non-standard electronic gears. With his on-going experimentation embracing improvisation, noise, errors, chaos and randomness, he has been re-visioning an unorthodox sound-making process expressed in extreme dichotomies, and driven by intuition and direct experience.

He has offered performance and creative work for concert, sound installation, workshop, audio-visual and theatrical performance. He had taken part and performed in various art events such as HK Sound and Vision Festival (2003), Get It Louder (2007), Hong Kong & Shenzhen Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture (2007, 2009), Architecture is Art Festival (2009), Notch Festival 2009 Guangzhou Station (2009).

About the artists:

Ricardo da Silva

Sight and sound performer, Ricardo da Silva comes from Portugal and is now living in Switzerland.

He is especially interested in borderline relations between images and sound and considers both at the same time in his work.

For sound, he works with modular synthesizers, granular synthesis and live sampling. For his visual works, he works with live sampling, noise patterns generators and 3D lightcone sculptures. Active since 2005, he has been playing extensively across Switzerland and Western Europe under various names and collectives such as: Thomas More Project, CINE-NOISE, TV-NOISE, KOMINFORM and his regular name.

Extra bio: RdS is also a film critic interested in unconventional forms of filmmaking and curator for Oblo Cinema in Lausanne (Switzerland) he organized several international festivals devoted to experimental filmmaking and music.

Instead of using cords, wind or percussions, he prefers to focus his work on the feedback (larsen) of both analogue and digital materials.

Impossible to be bored, challenging to dance, merging of all styles of music, it is a subtle crossover between hard composed parts and sweet improvisations. All of that condensed in a short time live that will definitely clean your ears and reconcile you with noises.

Niko is also curator of some itinerant music events and festivals in Switzerland such as Nocturnes MadeOneShot and LUFF - Lausanne Underground Film & music Festival.
He is the co-founder of an independent laboratory for photography and cinema on celluloid called "On fait du l'art !" based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

For this Asian tour, he will be performing with two recent solo projects: Nunk on Droise and TV Bug.

Nunk on Droise is a radical, bodily noise performance based on the live consumption of alcohol.

TV Bug is a minimalist audiovisual performance and an elegy to analog television.

Fruitpunch

Fruitpunch為香港二人結他組合，成員為Leo(主音、結他)和Patrick(主音、低音結他)，風格包括低調Post-Punk、結他噪音和民歌風格等。Fruitpunch於2005年出版首張唱片"Will It End?"，其歌曲曾收錄於香港廠牌「維港唱片」及「89268」的合輯內。於2010年12月，Fruitpunch出版第二張唱片《Wind And Sea》。

iii是一個充滿叛逆個性，以採樣為本，顛覆音樂體系為樂，且沒有固定成員的筆記本樂團。他們不但四出盜聲，演出時，更不時相互採聲或監守自盜。

KZ畸詩 (出道於1998)，這名字反映他在別人眼中運用與眾不同，多角度思維加上寫詩的手法，藉此創作中文說唱，在香港說唱界極具影響力。他的團體 - 生番（出道於2001），則多以黑色幽默的手法道出所遇到的社會問題，諷刺時弊。

公園好聲 Sound In The Park (策劃、文：袁智聰)
四個公園，六個地點，六場不同主題的露天音樂表演。

這是一個以融入公園空間為大前提的冬日午後音樂表演活動。所以我們沒有搭建舞台，也沒有巨型揚聲器，而是將音樂會變成公園的閒適愜意氣氛與流動風景一部分，令到音樂伴隨著多點綠色而來。於溫暖的冬日陽光與鳥語花香的環境下，讓樂迷身處一個自由開放的空間欣賞好聲現場音樂演出。

公園是供公眾消遣休憩的戶外場所，香港地少人多，我們這個城市裡商場太多、公園太少，大家要更加珍惜這個綠色的公共空間與城市資源。而「公園好聲」便是要把公園裡的公共空間化作音樂表演的平台、與眾同樂的表演場地。今次「公園好聲」的小型巡演會走遍香港公園、沙田公園、九龍公園和屯門公園；公園裡的廣場、花園、露天劇場和草坪，都會是我們舉行表演的地方。而每次皆會配合不同的表演環境，帶來特定的音樂主題。美好的現場音樂表演，看著樂手與樂迷的互動關係，每每能夠勾勒出一幅美麗而雅緻的畫面。那麼，沒有甚麼美好得過在陽光與樹蔭下於公園的露天空間帶來的音樂演出。

袁智聰

香港著名樂評人。一九八七年投身樂評工作，早年長駐《年青人周報》撰寫音樂文章，又曾在《音樂一週》任職助理編輯。1994年自資創辦音樂雜誌《音樂殖民地雙週刊》(Music Colony Bi-weekly，簡稱MCB)，直至2004年10周年休刊，期間曾出版台灣及內地版本，在大中華的影響力無遠弗屆；同年12月開設MCB Online(www.mcb.com.hk)。曾任電台節目《不設劃位》主持。現定期為《東Touch》(香港)、《Yahoo! Music Hong Kong》(香港)、《南方都市報》(廣州)及《Hinoter》(台灣)撰寫音樂專欄，並為《藝綻@冬日》的《公園好聲》、《濕地製造》的《在地球表面》系列戶外音樂表演活動擔任策劃人。

Located in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon Park is constantly in the flux of a variety of urban beats. Yet, different paces and rhythms are lived out even if the city has its own basic tempo. Sound in the Park 3: “In the midst of Urban Beats” proudly presents the post-punk beat of Fruitpunch, the eclectic beat of iii and the hip-hop beat of KZ (featuring Geniuz F aka Future & Poker aka HO). An afternoon of different urban beats, 3 acts of different attitudes towards life.

Fruitpunch

Fruitpunch is a two-piece guitar band playing post-punk, guitar noise and folk songs, with members Leo (vocal, guitar) and Patrick (vocal, bass guitar). Fruitpunch launched their first album “Will It End?” in 2005, some of their songs were included in compilations released by “Harbour Records” and “89268”. In December 2010, Fruitpunch launched their second album “Wind And Sea”.

iii

iii is a sample-based laptop group who works on the idea of genres bending. With no fixed members and always in flux, members of iii not only sample from their source materials, but also sample one another and re-sample themselves on stage.iii loves canto-pop and all kinds of outdated cheesy tune and popular icon. But depending on the occasion, one might also spot them playing something else.

KZ (since 1998), is the name of the irrefutable, well-known testimonial to his talent of creating music with unique, multi-perspectives and poetic touch. As a rapper who raps in Cantonese, KZ is enormously influential to the local rappers scene.

His band, sanGfan, was formed in 2001. Everything that goes wrong in the society falls prey to their sarcastic and critical lyrics. sanGfan has played on stage with MC HotDog in Taiwan, TVB's music shows, the reunion gig of LMF in 2010, the launching show of HOT CHA's new album, plus about a hundred of other shows all over the mainlands, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Geniuz.F aka Future joins the underground rap group “Rhyme Flow Army” in 2008. He started a rap group, Dark Side of the Force, in 2010, with Poker and KZ & Lil's from the local rap group sanGfan. He also joined hand in music projects with Vvish – the local beatboxer and producer – as well as Dough Boy from the local rap group 85up2. He has been guest jury to the Baby Ghetto Rap Battle.
In 2010, Poker aka HO started the rap group, The Dark Side of the Force, with Geniuz.F and KZ & Lil's from the local rap group sanGfan. He also joined hand in music projects with Dough Boy from the local rap group 85up2 and was a guest jury to the Baby Ghetto Rap Battle. “Experience” is his solo work in 2008.

Outdoor concerts in six different themes take place in six locations in four parks.
“Sound in The Park” is an afternoon concert series aiming to mix music into the park environment. The shows need no stage set, no giant loudspeakers. It is music that is going to be absorbed into the gentle milieu and landscape of the park, furnishing it with more notes of green. Under the winter sun and amidst the comforting environment of the park, music-lovers will have a good chance to enjoy live music in a free and open atmosphere.
A park is a very important outdoor space for people to relax. Given the ever- growing number of people and shopping malls here in Hong Kong, a park is getting even more vital as the public space and resource that city dwellers can share among themselves.
Turning this public space into a music platform and performance venue, Sound in The Park will tour around Hong Kong Park, Kowloon Park, Sha Tin Park and Tuen Mun Park. The piazzas, gardens, amphitheatre and grassland are all places in which great music will be delivered. And the concerts will be tailor-made with themes to fit different park environment.

Great music and the close encounter between music and its audience culminate in a picture that is both eye- and ear-soothing; an enjoyable afternoon filled with the warmth of the sun and the wonders of music. (Text:Yuen Chi-chung)
Yuen Chi-chung

YUEN Chi-chung is best known as the founder of legendary Hong Kong based independent music magazine “Music Colony Bi-weekly” (aka “MCB”). Established in 1994, it was among the most famous and influential music magazines in Chinese region. After a decade as a groundbreaking platform for music reportage and critique, MCB ceased publication in hard-copy format in 2004 and went online (www.mcb.com.hk).

Yuen has been active as a music critic since 1987 and has written about a wide range of artists and music genres. He was the host of weekly Hong Kong radio show “Free Seating”. 透過研究反傳統聲音製造的歷史和實驗，你會發現限制著創意的框框來自單一的理性文化，以及害怕錯誤、混亂、隨機、無序的心態。當你嘗試以反傳統的方法來製造聲音，你將會發現錯誤和無序的美，然後，突破絕對理性的狹隘視野，跳出框框來看問題。

Creativity is of ultimate importance to our existence. Even the commercial world is investing more and more on training their employees to think “out of the box”. However, we are still facing a creativity crisis — in our everyday life and in our work. What is hindering our ability to think out of the box?

Through examining the history and practice of unorthodox sound making, you will see that the lack of creativity is closely related to the one-sided development of our rational culture, and our learned mentality of seeing errors, chaos, randomness and disorder as undesirable results. With hands-on experiment on unorthodox sound making, you will develop an appreciative eye for the beauty of errors and randomness, which in turn, will free us from our tunnel vision of pure rationality, and enable us to see beyond the box.

Wong Chung-fai is an idiosyncratic sonic artist who hacks and twists anything he can put his hands on. His interest ranges widely from improvisation, sound art, experimental music, and noise art to field recordings. His first two solo works, “Uroborus: A Study On No-input Device” and “60 Seconds: A Schizophrenic Manual for Eternity”, were released by Lona Records in 2006.He took part in the HK Sound and Vision Festival (2003), Get It Louder (2007), Hong Kong & Shenzhen Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture (2007, 2009), Notch Festival Guangzhou Station (2009), and was a major contributor to the legendary Hong Kong alternative music magazine MCB (Music Colony B-Weekly). He is a member of the electro-acoustic concept duo No One Pulse and co-founder of the experimental imprint Re-Records and soundpocket’s advisor.

As the second gig of the series Sound Friction, The Zen Ensemble will be the most noiseless and tranquil sound performance of this year.

Inspired by the concept of emptiness in Zen Buddhism, the dynamic Japanese multi-disciplinary group mAtter, together with selected Hong Kong sound artists, will bring us 'The Zen Ensemble' - a conceptual group that explores the composition and performance of silence.

For this special performance, a set of rules is composed to guide the artists to play ‘silence’ rather than making sound. In Zen Buddhism (an adaptation of Chinese Buddhism), it is said that our existence can only be found in the silence of the mind (or in fact, no-mind). The Zen Ensemble will be the first and only sound performance in Hong Kong that invites you to experience the absence of sound.

Together with stunning live visuals, this quiet sound revolution of The Zen Ensemble at Videotage is definitely a must-go for electronics and sound art lovers.

mAtter is a Japanese design group and independent music label that combines talents from various disciplines, including the acclaimed designer and sound composer Yukitomo Hamasaki, in which he draws his inspirations through nature elements such as light and space. Together the group blends sound and produce projects that integrate architecture, image-making and design. The tranquil sound quality contains layered waves of irregular clicks, pops, beeps and breaks, which brings the noise listening experience and sound art to a new level. For example the high frequency sound used in the album "d+p", some listeners claimed that it has an effect to distort their perspective on surrounding environmental noise.

Jointly presented by Videotage and Re-records, the Sound Friction series take sonic art as the anchor point and develop a creative performance platform for cross-cultural, cross-media, cross-disciplinary and cross-genres collaboration between artists.

mAtter
mAtter is a sound & design project, with works centering around Yukitomo Hamasaki. The label takes approaches from various media such as sound design, architecture, and product design, in which the members interpret and restructures these concepts in different ways based on their own perspection, and try to achieve the goal of constructing dense space. OPEN ROOF is about listening to and on rooftops and balconies. It is a call to set free a layer of urban life from the routines of looking up and looking past. It is a call to imagine the in-between. OPEN ROOF is also about caring for rooftops as unique and endangered soundscapes of Hong Kong. Imagine standing in urban enclaves hewn out by the drones of the low and the screeching winds of the high - our ears are bigger than we think.

在城中往上望，高樓千尺，有人喜歡把天台改建成私人天地，居高臨下，有人把陽台密封，增多一點室內空間，更常見的是用以擺放冷氣及通風系統，天台變成超現代不毛之地。《天台與陽台》是卡爾維諾文學著作《看不見的城市》的聆聽版，也是對城市的「拜高」「拜看」主義的回應。《天台與陽台》邀請城市人探索不高不低卻「大有聽頭」的一片空氣，聽音樂人與聲音設計師以三個原創聲音事件，把天台與陽台的聲境掏空再盛滿，共用一天寬倘。

When digital electronic music hardware and software is presenting to us unlimited choices and options through a mass production industrial model, are we simply operators facing unlimited options? Or is there still room and possibility beyond such mass production model?

Returning to the small scale family business model and the philosophy of “small is beautiful”, a group of advanced circuit benders have been designing and producing limited run of handmade electronic instruments of their own design. They evolve directly from the “no rules” philosophy of Circuit Bending and insist on handcrafting creative chaos out of hardware limitation.

Russia electronic artist ::vtol:: (Dmitry Morozov) is one of them. In Sound Friction 1, he will be performing with his own handmade modular synthesizer system, to show us not only new possibilities in electronic sound, but also electronic visuals.

Local electroacoustic duo No One Pulse, will be presenting handmade electronic instruments from infamous instrument designers such as Folktek, BugBrand and Eric Archer, to perform a sound jam with ::vtol::’s system as the Bent Orchestra.

Moreover, ::vtol:: will be bring along a few extra units of his synthesizers to the live show, for those who are interested to purchase.

In addition to the live performance, ::vtol:: will also conduct a workshop at Videotage, in which he will explain the basics of synthesizer, and lead the participants to complete the Matreshka Generators (a sound generating object of his own design)

Matreshkas are traditional Russian wood toys colored by hand in a folk art-style. But we will be working on a new generation of Matreshkas, and we can decorate them anyway that we want! During this workshop we will create a special sound producing object and piece of art at the same time.

The electronic part is a single chip synthesizer with several functions for creating a complex sound generator. With this example many DIY synthesizer basics like square wave oscillators, amplitude and frequency modulation, and signal summation will be explained.

The provided KIT will include all electronic components and wooden parts. All tools required for building it will be available on site. It's preferable if participants have knowledge of basic soldering.

You can bring any materials you want to paint and decorate MGs - markers, paint, plastic parts, hair - anything!!!

::vtol:: is a project of a Moscow media-artist, musician and engineer of strange-sounding mechanisms, Dmitry Morozov.

Starting in mid-2000s, within the context of his music project, Dmitry actively began using DIY and circuit-bent instruments.

At the same time, he began making instruments for other musicians, which made him the first serial synthesizer producer in all of post-soviet territories, after USSR's collapse.

Besides making music and instruments, Dmitry creates interactive sound art-installations and advocates circuit bending and DIY in Russia by means of lectures and workshops. He has participated in many festivals in Russia, USA and Israel.

No One Pulse is an experimental / electro-acoustic duo from Hong Kong, formed by Wong Chung-fai (Sin:Ned) and Chau Kin-wai (KWC) in 2006. Pogo(原名Nick Bertke)是來自澳洲伯斯的國際知名電子音樂家及VJ。他的作品風格獨特，多從電影或電影特定的場景中錄取聲音，然後將聲音排序製成新的音樂，深受歡迎。

Electronic musician / VJ
Pogo (born Nick Bertke) is an internationally renowned electronic musician and VJ from Perth, Australia. He has gained popularity for his unique work recording small sounds from a film or a specific scene, and sequencing the sounds together to form a new piece of music.
In just a few months, Pogo has developed youtube footprint of over 14 millions views with only 11 videos. He has over 50,000 subscribers, making him one of the most subscribed to independent musicians ever online. He has been sought after and done work with Walt Disney, Pixar, Oprahʼs Harpo Studios, Honda, Subaru, Showtime, Art Basel in Miami, The Guggenheim in NYC and many others.
Although gaining recognition through Youtube, many of Pogo’s tracks are available for download at Last.fm where examples from his combined discography have been heard over 1,600,000 times.

iii is a sample-based laptop group who works on the idea of genres bending. With no fixed members and always in flux, members of iii not only sample from their source materials, but also sample one another and re-sample themselves on stage.

The noise level in our city keeps rising in an unpredictable rate. A 2006 research by the Chinese University of Hong Kong shows that, the noise levels of more than 90 parks in our community are much higher than the standard level (55dB) suggested by the World Health Organization. The most well known Victoria Park even reaches a noise level of 50% higher than the standard. In 2008, an Environmental Protection Department report says, “Traffic noise is a major concern which affects more than one million people.” (http://www.epd.gov.hk/epd/english/environmentinhk/noise/data/noise_exposure.html) Noise might even cause hearing loss, mental stress and irritation. Can we still hear our favorite sounds in this noise? What sounds are endangered?

The hazard of noise has long been identified by Canandian composer and environmentalist Murray Schafer. However, rather than championing noise abatement, he takes the positive approach: encouraging people to “clean their ears” and discover the joy of listening again. His work and call have since inspired acoustic ecology movements and artistic endeavors throughout the world. World Listening Day, also Schafer’s birthday, is a tribute to him for founding the Acoustic Ecology movement and the World Soundscape Project. On July 18, worldwide activities on listening take place to raise public awareness on our listening environment and to celebrate the creative exploration of field recording. soundpocket celebrates the first World Listening Day in Hong Kong with one-day event Let’s Listen – a group of active and critical listeners (university students of sound art, sound designers and engineers, artists…etc) lead a walk for silence in Wanchai, while distributing short quotations from Schafer’s book. After the walk, sonic artist Sin:Ned (Dennis Wong Chung Fai) shares with the public for the first time his private sound collection. Sin:Ned’s interests range from improvisation, sound art, experimental music, and noise art to field recordings. He says, “Collecting sound is like people collecting stamps in the old days.” Other sound collectors also share their favorite sound from their “stamp album” with Sin:Ned.

- treat our ears as if they are your greatest treasure

- participate in Let’s Listen and spend time with a group of active listeners

- put our earphones aside for one minute, one hour, one day; listen to the sound around

- speak less to listen more

- listen to stories from an elderly person: everyone has a right to be listened to

- listen again to what we habitually do; notice the quality and texture of the sound

- make a list of favorite sound (or least favorite ones)

- allow ourselves 5 minutes to do nothing but listening

生活在亞洲國際都會，我們每天置身於人多車多的鬧市，飽受繁忙擠塞的交通帶來的噪音干擾。2008年，環境保護署（http://www.epd.gov.hk/epd/english/environmentinhk/noise/data/noise_exposure.html ）一項研究指出香港現時的交通噪音問題滋擾超過一百萬名市民，而建築工程、通風系統、防盜警鐘及鄰里所發出不同程度砰砰、轟轟或刺耳的噪音亦影響著市民的生活。休憩公園的情況會較為理想嗎？事實上，香港中文大學2006年一項研究發現，本地有90多個市區公園噪音水平極高，全部超出世界衛生組織建議的55分貝標准，其中最為人熟悉維多利亞公園的平均噪音更達到81分貝，令人有如置身繁忙的高速公路。我們的耳朵能逃得過噪音嗎？噪音會否一一蓋過那些我們喜愛的聲音？又有甚麼聲音將瀕臨絕種？

加拿大作曲家、教育家、作者及環境保護者 Murray Schafer早在四十年前已經提出噪音對人的危害。他並不是提倡控制噪音，反而採取正面態度，鼓勵大家打開耳朵，發掘再次聆聽的樂趣。七月十八日是世界聆聽日，旨於提升大眾對環境聲音的關注及使用地境錄音(field-recording)的創意，同時鼓勵推行聲境教育及實踐。世界聆聽日為Murray Schafer的出生日，以表示對這位聲境研究的先鋒者的尊重。他於七十年代發表書本 The Soundscape – Our Sonic Environment and The Tuning of the World (1977)，分享他對聲態學研究作出的種種判斷。他亦為 World Soundscape Project的創辦人，啟發了世界各地很多聲態學活動（http://www.sfu.ca/~truax/wsp.html）。

為嚮應世界聆聽日，聲音掏腰包(soundpocket) 首度在本港舉辦《聽甚麼？》﹣為寧靜漫步及集聲者（包括聲音藝術家、大學生、聲音設計和工程師等）的分享會。漫步由修頓球場開始，途中向公眾免費派發 Murray Schafer 的聆聽啟示，穿梭皇后大道東至灣仔適安街為終點。隨後，聲音藝術家 Sin:Ned (黃仲輝) 分享他多年來個人珍藏的聲音，他認為「收集聲音就如我們以前喜愛集郵一樣」。另外幾位集聲者亦會跟大家分享他們「集郵簿」內的獨特聲音，他們喜愛集聲只因他們都同樣熱衷於聆聽。

In this workshop on field recording, Edwin Lo will show how to successfully record the sounds surrounding you and how they can be transformed and incorporated in a sonic art work. He will explain the different perspectives of this practice by sharing his thoughts, and will guide you through his experiences, different creative works and actual field-recording. This will enable the participants to have a better understanding of this technique.

Wong Chung-fai will lead participants to explore non-standard sound making processes with everyday objects. Get hands on with electronics and explore the hidden sounds around you!
Wong Chung-fai, a.k.a Sin:Ned will lead this workshop is for all those who believe that all sounds are equal, and all sounds deserved to be listened equally and deeply; those who hear music in noise and have fond interest in the beauty of chaos and errors and those who want to explore the hidden sounds around us and alternative approaches to sounds and music.
What to expect: Theory and practice of non-standard sound making processes, ranging from circuit bending to mis-use of non-musical devices. The workshop will feature live demonstrations by sound artist Sin:Ned and his avant-group No One Pulse. No previous experience is necessary.
What to bring: Open mind and old small battery operated devices such as: radio, old mobile phones, remote controls, wireless mouse…etc.

2050 年，遺留在倖存愛滋病患者的突變病毒，再重組人類的DNA 模式，並繁殖出MILK GEN。MILK GEN在到達高潮時，會射出一種含天然安多芬衍生物的白色液體。當這種代號為MILK 的白色液體與皮膚接觸時，安多芬會滲透到皮膚，造成使人上癮的快感，這種快感打通人類終極性慾感官的脈絡。

MILK 是專屬廿一世紀的白色液體，就如二十世紀人類依靠白色粉末(可卡因)達致快感一樣。MILK GEN的存在，可追溯自20 世紀後期，政府及製藥工業對研究愛滋病藥物試驗失敗。MILK被列為非法，MILK GEN會被毒販徵募來從事高利潤的性及毒品交易。另一邊廂，政府派遣具免疫力的MILK特工，對MILK GEN進行殲滅或提供復康。

By year 2050, the mutated virus left in the survivors of HIV positive has reconstituted the DNA patterns and given birth to the MILK GEN. The MILK GEN when arriving at orgasm ejaculate white fluid that contains a natural endorphin derivative. Code named MILK, the white fluids when contacting with skin, the endorphin diffused through the skin, gives an addictive high, a high that pumps up all needle entry points of ultimate sexual sensation.

MILK is the white fluid for the 21st century, as the white powder was for the 20th century high.

電子音樂人兼聲影藝術家蔡世豪，自小接受古典音樂訓練，擁有小提琴Trinity演奏級水平。2008年於城市大學創意媒體學院碩士畢業，現從事音樂、視覺藝術、多媒體聲音錄像演出及創作、獨立電影配樂工作等。S.T.是其一人多元化電子音樂與聲影藝術單位。世豪在09年底推出其S.T.首張個人唱片專輯Weird Mind。

(2) No One Pulse
No One Pulse是一個由巢建威 (KWC) 及黃仲輝 (Sin:Ned) 組成的實驗電聲學二人組。透過非傳统的發聲及製樂工具，二人旨在探索一種概念，有關於包含隨機性、混沌結構及微聲法則的即興演奏、自由形態電音。兩人同時亦是實驗廠牌Re-Records的創建人。

(3) 迷你噪音
香港本土的草根民謠樂隊《迷你噪音》，2008年出版了首張CD《多麼美好》，以樸實而富質感的民謠聲音，灌錄了多首曾在街頭傳唱，伴隨我們一起抗爭的謠曲，把憤怒與苦澀化為美的力量。在他們的歌裡，有臨屋區小孩和公共屋邨居民的生活盼願，老工人的淡然回眸，性工作者的日記殘章，對葬身建築工地的工人的思念，與工人屬同哭的心，社會異議者的羞怯情歌，與及二十年前的廣場酷熱。http://mininoise.blogspot.com/

Sound in the Park Curated by seasoned music critic Yuen Chi Chung, the music series allows a close encounter between music and its audience. The shows need no stage set, amplifiers or band equipment, but the very space of the park which a friendly delivery of music speaks to. Each park is a unique space suitable for different kinds of music: the elegant Hong Kong Park revitalised from heritage architecture, the rhythmic Kowloon Park in the heart of the city, and the laid-back Shatin Park popular during family weekends. These parks will be overwhelmed by a wide variety of music. (Programme duration is about one hour and thirty minutes)

Choi Sai Ho is an electronic musician and audio-visual artist. S.T. is his solo project. Sai Ho received classical music training since childhood and obtained professional qualification from Trinity (associate recital in violin). He has obtained a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Media at the City University of Hong Kong. In September 2009, Sai Ho released as S.T. first audio-visual album Weird Mind.

(2) No One Pulse
No One Pulse is an experimental / electro-acoustic duo formed by Wong Chung-fai (Sin:Ned) and Chau Kin-wai (KWC). By means of non-musical instruments and devices, the two aim to explore the concept of free improvisation and the world of free-from electronics that embraces randomness, chaotic structure, and microsound methodology. The duo is also the mastermind behind the experimental imprint Re-Records.(

3) mininoise
Local grassroot folk band 'mininoise' has recently released their debut “How Wonderful Life Is”, including songs that have been sung on many street rallies. With the rustic but touching sound, they turned their fury and bitterness in life into beauty. 'mininoise' writes about the wishes from the children in temporary housing area and people in public housing estates; the remembrance of retired worker; bits and pieces quoted from a sex worker's diary. 'mininoise' also feels the tearing heart of families of the workers who died in the construction sites and the heat suspended twenty years ago in the Square -- these are the songs of the dissidents.http://mininoise.blogspot.com/

About "ISW"
ISW is a series of Imaginary Sound Walk based on field recording materials.

In this first release, an imaginary journey was constructed based on field recordings taken from Central, Sheung Wan and Kwun Tong in Hong Kong.

This sound work was originally composed for Lee Chi Leung’s book “Room”. The journey is about a shamanistic search for the lost soul of the sick.

In shamanism, it is believed that people get sick because they lost their soul, and it is the shaman’s job to rescue their lost soul from the underworld.

Sound arts star Zbigniew Karkowski will join force with the Hong Kong laboratory musician Dickson Dee in the [Staticizer Tour 2009] at Videotage on October 8th.

The concert will be a milestone of Zbigniew Karkowski and Dickson Dee’s music journey since their collaboration in the album, "Revenge of Ying And Yang" in 2005. They met 2 years ago during Zbignieew’s tour in China and since then the two have performed and collaborated repeatedly. They first initiate to produce an album together in 2004 and after a year of hard work, "Revenge of Ying And Yang" had finally came to live in 2005, which features live clips from their concerts and studio recorded music.

The collaboration have been influential and have pushed their music to new directions. After exploring noise and experimental music for over 10 years, Zbigniew have gradually moved to the creation of ambient and environmental music. He thinks that in order to have a better understand about ourselves and the planet, artists in the present day have the responsible to travel and work around the World. He also strongly believes that geographical, political and social exile is a necessary condition for true and honest creation. He is not interested in the traditional definition of music, in his opinion, all musical theory and systems, as cultural concepts must be destroyed. In his latest work, his main concern is to realize drama with sound - electronic and acoustic walls with the architectures of ruins transcribed in the scores.

Since the release of his solo album “PAST” in 1996, Dickson has began to set foot on the creation field with musical styles ranging from avant garde to experimental, music concrete, electronic, new classical, industrial noise, dance, electronic world jazz etc. He has collaborated with many artists, and set up his personal label Dicksonia Audio beside Noise Asia, which concentrates on the release and publishing of his own works. This provides more freedom and convenience to further develop his creativity.

The first release of our On Location series. From one of the most influential Chinese sound artists of our time. A new master piece that for sure will redefine site-specific and field recordings oriented sound works. This sound diary was recorded in Lamma Island, by Beijing sound artist, Yan Jun, during his stay in Hong Kong for the AROUND sound festival in 2009. The imaginative approach of Yan Jun simply opens up a whole new world for field recordings. From now on, field recordings will never be the same.

Performance Description:
Two people. One wooden box. Forty-eight metal contact points. This is the basic idea of INTRE-FACE.

The wooden box is called Harmonic Field. It is designed and handmade by American sound art device artists, Arius Blaze and Ben Houston of Folktek. No keyboard. No strings. Only forty-eight metal contact points. The performer is required to use his/her body as part of the circuitry to generate sounds.

In each of the INTER-FACE performance, Hong Kong sound artist Sin:Ned will invite different artist to play the Harmonic Field with him. Face to face. With such unique instrumental interface.

Here in Beijing, we have the debut performance of INTRE-FACE.

In this debut performance, Yan Jun is invited to play the Harmonic Field with Sin:Ned. With electro-acoustic duo No One Pulse as opening act, Alok and KWC will pair with guest artists Jackson Garland and Vavabond for a duet improvisation.

RED_shift: A Sound Exhibition & Performance for the Red Compilation

Jointly presented by Lona Records and Re-Records, RED_shift is an exhibition and live experimental sound performance for the 3-CD compilation Red.

For this special event, guest artists are invited to join forces with Lona artists featured in the Red compilation for a opening live performance. Four improvisation trio/duo, Rudra, Reductive Electrodynamics, Sixth Ray and M are formed especially for this event. These super groups, which might not be seen again on stage after this event, will be performing on the opening of RED_shift, to explore a whole new dimension of experimental avant-garde.

During the week of RED_shift, there will be sound installation by Yan Jun and No One Pulse at the venue. In addition to Lona Records’ standard releases, limited edition CD, artworks and sound devices will also be available for auction.

Set up in 2003, Lona Records is an independent label in Hong Kong preoccupied with producing alternative/experimental music.

Sin:Ned / Nerve - Ghost Feeding Vessel

This is a split release between Sin:Ned and Nerve.

This split album from Hong Kong locals Sin:Ned and Nerve is a recorded performance on the eve of the Chinese Ghost Festival as accompaniment to a multimedia installation of video projection by two other artists at the Para/Site Art Space. It is a spatially haunting piece endemic to both region and intention – discernibly Asian and noticeably supernal.

The quality of the single track that sheds skin and phantasmagoria over a little less than forty minutes is to be commended for a live recording, the electronics so pristine they finely shave away all low-fi or hazed excesses yet despite the digital crystallisation is not frigid.

Intended to serve as a bridge those in this world and those in the next, ‘Ghost Feeding Vessel’ is thankfully not a dolorous drone of decay and depression for it is far too electric and chaotic. Bell chimes limn the air like the fragrance of jasmine, delicate and almost imperceptible; flutes flit and dart in Asian scale tones down to their quarters as swift as the smallest of winged birds; gongs explode showers of golden dust; even the more electronic oscillating susurrations are treated with a light deftness and inveigle the senses. Sounds coalesce and crescendo in attempt to force embrasure.

Several movements collate ‘Ghost Feeding Vessel’ with the middle section less ghostly than the lead-in as electronic glitches patter little rhythms with the sampled noise of dust. The last movement, however, seems to step away from the realms of spirits and becomes mired in an urban maelstrom of squalling frequencies and rapid and uncontrolled leaps of percussion. This detraction seems to close more than open the aperture into the formless.

The album is a limited affair, one-hundred CDr copies are presented better than the average slap-together, with a black silk-screen coated disc (quite a rarity for a CDr) and heavy gloss card in full colour. An intriguing symmetrical icon burns an optical illusion with lens flare that has your pupils dilating. (symbolique)

No One Pulse - LINGK

The Hong Kong duo of Wong Chung-fai (Sin:ned, Music Colony Bi-Weekly Magazine) and Chau Kin-wai (Sleepatwork) recording as No One Pulse, specialise in conceptually minimalistic, but broadly-painted, soundscapes, utilising electronic blips, hums and squeaks. In their own terms these are micro-sound experiments and “freeform” electronics, collated and built from both studio-based and live recordings. There are hints of a certain formalism to some of the microstructural minutiae of the compositions, but above and beyond that the pair introduce elements of random interpolations and chaotic improvisation. This is not to imply any Stockhausen-style atonality is present – rather, in much the same way that matter behaves in the real world, structures are allowed to emerge out of the randomicity without attempting to confine the music into any theoretical straitjacket. What we have then could be said to mimic the natural processes, albeit on a smaller scale, that form the bedrock of material existence around us.

I have to advise that I use the word minimal very loosely here – the sounds employed are in essence very few in number, but stack themselves up in successive layers to produce a convoluted complexity. Random concatenations, microscopic detonations and explosions, sheets of accelerated particles, high-energy sonic excitations, and hums, clicks and squeals – these are the fundamental particles that surge and flow, that collide and split, and form the basis of No One Pulse’s musical discourse. It’s never loud or harsh, although sometimes the drones and squeals have a habit of drilling into the head, just like some neutrino ploughing through miles of rock.

Indeed, the sounds on here remind me very much of the ‘music of the spheres’, created through both macro and micro-scale processes, picked up and recorded by radio astronomers – the constant flux of creation caught in spectral sound. It’s like the pair have journeyed through the heart of star-fields and galactic nurseries, sailed into vast dust-clouds of energetic radioactivity or flown past extra-solar planetary systems, all the while pointing sensitive antennae at them and recorded the fluttering, the whistling, the crackling, the humming and the heartbeats of black holes and galaxies hidden in the airlessness of space. And in between the interstices of sound there is space, eternal light-years of hyperactive nothingness, bristling with unseen and unfelt energies. Above all one gets the impression, the certain feeling in fact, of vast limitless expanses, where the stars and galaxies are on the same scale to the universe as atoms and subatomic particles are to our human comprehension. Little islands of coagulated matter clump together here and there, accreting and spinning, before amassing sufficient to form new systems and worlds.

Simultaneously, one can also envisage a journey through the particle-rich quantum world, which in its own way can be considered as just another universe itself, albeit compacted into an infinitesimally small space, but still an analogue of the bigger one. Therefore I wouldn’t be surprised, should we develop sensitive enough instruments, that we detect a similar subatomic symphony, equally as energetic and equally as noisy. And No One Pulse’s entirely naturalistic soundtrack can just be as fittingly applied to that scale as it can to its opposite. In that sense, it’s truly a work that encompasses the entire spectrum of creation in its scope.

LINGK contains it all, condensing the whole spectrum into a palatable form, while simultaneously moulding it into a work of abstract beauty. The near-lightspeed blasts of particles no human eye could possibly ever see, the lightyears-long tendrils of starstuff left over from supernovae or the massive columns of gas and dust serving as the wombs of new stars; who would have thought that you could have shoehorned that lot onto a disc of plastic only 5” in diameter. 中國與波蘭聲音藝術的第三度交鋒

ChoP是一個由深圳電音藝術家ZenLu發起的跨國交流項目，每輯均邀請一位中國藝術家及一位波蘭藝術家合作。第一、二集的中國代表分別有ZenLu及華人實驗音樂先鋒Dickson Dee，而我則應邀參與第三集，與波蘭電子樂家Minoo作遙距合作。

Improvision的七首純音樂作品極富層次感，也特別強調即興性，調混著幻變的躁音及詭異的律韻。Minoo的演奏力及音樂感超強。Yin John及Wingse (還記得她倆在Anima的演出嗎?) 獻聲相助，再加上Alok幾能點石成金的Mastering，Improvision是一輯性格鮮烈的聲響交鋒演練。

Marc Behrens Bio
Born in Darmstadt, Germany, in 1970.Marc Behrens lives and works in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, since 1991, during 2003 also in Grimacco/UD, Italy. He studied Communication and Product Design and has always been present in more than one artistic area at the time.

After beginning his musical studies in experimental jazz and rock groups in the late 1980s and pursuing a series of music releases, acoustic feedback recordings, and multimedia works throughout the 1990s, today Behrens is perhaps best classed as a sound artist, working across performance, installation, and recorded media (audio and video). He also creates photographic works and CD sleeve design.

Behrens has performed and exhibited extensively across Europe, the Middle East, North America, and East Asia. Collaborations with Achim Wollscheid, Bernhard Gunter, Francisco Lopez, Jeremy Bernstein, Nikolaus Heyduck, Paulo Raposo, among others.

He is a member of the Frankfurt Association for Contemporary Music (FGNM), the German Association for Electroacoustic Music (DEGEM), subscriber to the Electronic Music Foundation (EMF), and a citizen of The Kingdoms of Elgaland~Vargaland. 2003–2007 he was co-director of the Portuguese label Sirr.

Marc Behrens is a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts, Saarbrucken, Germany and the University of Applied Arts Darmstadt-Dieburg, Germany.

「城市」無孔不入，連一個人在自己的房間中最私密的時光、最幽微婉轉的情意，亦必得劃進條件與法理的管轄，因為看守自己的人正是囚犯自己。如是，城市中、房間中，我們聽見甚麼？聽不見甚麼？

LINGK is the first full-length release of the experimental concept duo No One Pulse from Hong Kong.

Consisted of both studio and live performance recordings, LINGK is a collection of works of the duo's micro sound experiment and free-form "electronics" improvisation.

If all things are made up of sound;

If all sounds have a life of its own;

Instrumentalists and their instruments are equal.

It is not one playing the other in the relationship of user and tool.

It is the resonance of sound between two bodies: the instrumentalist and the instrument.

It is an approach of seeing things and ourselves in the perspective of sound.

Re-defining things and re-interpretation of the world in terms of sound.

All instruments and devices, be they musical or non-musical instrument, are being turned into "sound making" device by tapping into their internal process. The whole sound making process becomes an improvised dance between two sonic resonance entities.

The result is a new kind of "electronics" music that embraces randomness, chaotic structure, improvisation and microsound methodology.

患病的是城市人，還是這個城市。

書寫如果不是治療，你我又為何樂此不疲。痊癒，可能嗎？李智良、張歷君將於講座中討論城市、病態與書寫三者之間千絲萬縷的關係。

李智良的新著《房間》採取了一名「精神病患」的視角，書寫「城市」作為一種人類羣聚的方式，於病壞的身體上種種不流血的暴力。

王墨林說「我們不能不凝視著他的病變與我們之間一種模糊而且曖昧的關係……」。當我們常以「痴線」、「瘋狂」、「癲喪」來形容城中的人與事，關乎「精神病患」的社會位置，其政治、欲望或壓抑，可能說穿了，不過是你我的日常經驗。

從《房間》開始，李智良、張歷君將於講談會上討論作為病者／作為書寫者／作為一個「整全與複合的經驗主體」，三者的張力和辯證關係。聽證城市的軍事化、高度理性化，施於我們身上的暴力，並且，令「連續的時間」崩離瓦解。

城市的「病體」在那裡？它就是面目模糊的「病人」嗎？抑或是，城市本身（一種高度調控的人類活動組織方式）已經是一具「病體」。「災難」與「精神創傷」跟日常生活的關係是甚麼？「語言」可會是「災難」與「精神創傷」的載體？

──李智良說，我們最終必然回到的問題是：痊癒可能嗎？甚麼是痊癒？甚麼是痊癒的條件。

鬼餓施舟

剛於Lona Records名下發表的Ghost Feeding Vessel，是我與腦科 (Nerve) 去年孟蘭前夕於Para/Site的一次現場演出錄音。我自已是蠻喜歡這次演出。雖然這是第一次與腦科合作，但效果異常合拍。腦科那追求非直線、高隨機性及強調即興元素的演奏理念，與我不謀而合。再者，腦科一直是我極欣賞的香港實驗音樂家，能夠與他合作，實在是自已的榮幸。

在是次演出，我只用了一個無音源的Mini Kaoss Pad作主奏工具，電腦反而只作輔助，將No-Input Device的概念，及在No One Pulse與阿巢 (KWC) 所發展出的即興手法，進一步融匯貫通。那Free-Form的演奏模式及氣息原始的東方宗教色彩，再加上我一貫喜愛的長篇舖排，效果甚得我心。

一直覺得，香港極需多一點開放交流，小一點劃地自限。因此，也很喜歡我們在《異靈對話》及《異靈祭典》所促成的跨界合作。

當然，阿巢的封面設計也是一貫的精妙。

G-Imagineering along Desire Lines presents the work of urbanites who have documented/initiated changes in (what was formerly known as) Victoria City: a video collage of Hong Kong filmmakers/video makers’ cinematic reinterpretation of urban spaces, to be juxtaposed with a recreation of the Central soundscape by sound artists Alok and Lona Records in a room decorated by furniture salvaged from demolished public buildings over the years by cultural publisher and collector of urban artifacts Chenmiji, in a study of the desires, dramas and organic spatial relationships embodied in the architecture and its surroundings. Copies of Modern Media’s City Magazine and the Outlook Magazine, chroniclers of the collective cultural/consumerist experience in Hong Kong and the South China region, provide a frame of reference for the exploration of possibilities in sustainability.

Today, the Central Police Station compound stands deserted, devoid of its former occupants—and its colonial-style government furniture.

For more than two decades, Chenmiji have been preserving history by salvaging overlooked treasure from public buildings and government offices facing demolition. These chairs, tables, book cases, door handles, light switches have been selected by Chenmiji from his vast collection of urban artifacts to be displayed in this former exhibition space for “Correctional Services Industries” products. Each item has its own story to tell—and a similar origin to the government stationery and furniture that had been used or produced here until not so long ago.

中區警署建築群，人去樓空，連殖民年代的傢俬舊物也一併消失。

舊物收藏家陳米記多年來自面臨拆卸的舊屋舊廈、公共建築搶救家具、舊物保存歷史。今次，他從私己舊物倉庫挑選一系列大小組件──檯椅、書架、門鎖、電燈掣等等放回這個「懲教工業製品」展示室內陳列。每件物品，附掛名牌一個，述說它的身世故事。

Central is a playground of sounds loud and soft, a forum of conflicting views as much as it is an arena of power and desire. The ambient sound artists at Lona Records capture the emotions of the heart of our city and present us with a digital simulation of the urban soundscape, a soundtrack for the subconsciousness of the urbanite.

以聲音作為一種觸覺及想像方式，在空間與地理之間，劃一直線；以符碼學的姿勢，橫切歷史、權力、文化及瀕臨存在邊緣的回憶與現實。

Lona Records的聲音實驗家，以中區警署建築群為中心，向外以聽覺伸延，採集聲音，透過電腦軟件及各種電子器材，將中區警署建築群變成一個熔爐，一併消化自身的歷史及週邊的聲態環境。過程是一系列的現場演奏及背景音像。

名店與童年回憶與舊區生態與醉生夢死與建築與空間與消費物質資本主義連成一線聲音。

然而，根據相對論的說法，兩點之間的最短距離，不一定是直線。

想像，一個即將融化在聲音之中的中環。

In Johnnie To’s Running Out of Time 2, the plot and reality intertwine in a Hong Kong that is strange yet familiar. Video artists Dan Ip+Lo have borrowed scenes from the film—with the director’s kind permission, of course—and argue visually that Lau Ching Wan, playing Inspector Lau in a “Central Police Station” that is in reality the former Marine Police Headquarters in Tsim Sha Tsui, is actually pointing his gun towards the days when our city was still a colony; that the fictional birdwatchers at the Central Piers are taking our imagination far beyond the hills surrounding Victoria Harbour; and that To’s cinematic tribute to the now demolished Queen’s Pier is a reminder of the arrogance and haste with which we have been destroying our past. Across the harbour, in the Cattle Depot Artists Village in Tokwawan, media artist Gd St j joins Dan Ip+lo in a video dialogue between real and imaginary space.

Think Big? Size Matters?

Artists from Eniminiminimos: Artists Who Make Things Small, beg to differ. This group exhibition explores the notion of ‘small size’ in contemporary art, and features a dozen ways that small is big. 12 international artists from Singapore, Hong Kong and various cities in the United Kingdom come together to exhibit their contemporary miniature artworks in Studio Bibliothèque, Hong Kong, on 12, 13, 19 and 20 Jan 2008.

There seems to be a global “size fetish” that regards everything big as necessarily good and right. This exhibition will show that making, using and being small have important implications in art and life. It will get us to reconsider issues of craftmanship, relationship, memory, technology, the individual in the social world, the missions of artists and the mass media, insanity and disasters.

Curated by artist Michael Lee Hong Hwee, the exhibition showcases a wide range of approaches in exploring miniatures in contemporary art: drawing (Cornelia Erdmann’s prints of furniture on slides); painting (Debbie Hill’s portraits of stars painted on chewing gum, Chow Chun Fai’s animated replica of a segment from the Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs); printmaking (Tang Kwok Hin’s found prints of lone figures on beer cans); photography (cutouts of Michael Lee lazing around); book (Chihoi’s mini sketchbook made from a piece of printing paper); architectural model (e.g., Li Loi-Yau’s miniature sports shop; Chun Kai Feng’s model which features a three-dimensional version of van Gogh’s bedroom, and Suki Chan’s floor installation of tiny houses); toy figurines (Esther’s miniature masterpieces from art history); sound art (Sin:Ned’s compilation of one-minute “schizophrenic” sounds); and animation (Justin Wong’s clips depicting giants and little people).

This exhibition is the second installment of the Things Artists Do exhibition series. It is also part of Fotanian: Fotan Artists Open Studios 2008, which runs during the same period.

Things Artists Do is an exhibition-cum-publication series of Studio Bibliothèque. It aims to address the gap amidst the onslaught of survey, thematic art shows and books by focusing on the being, consumption and activities of artists. The inaugural installment in the series, Autobiobliophiles: Artists who make or use books, in May/June 2007, explored the notion of identity in the production and consumption of the book form in the context of contemporary art. About Fotanian: Fotan Artists Open Studios 2008

Fotanian is an annual open studio in Fo Tan industrial estate in the New Territories, Hong Kong SAR. Initially an off-campus artistic enclave of the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Department of Fine Arts, the industrial estate today plays host to over 100 international artists across more than 30 studios. Since 2003, Fotanian has been an annual platform to showcase the creative processes and working environments of artists with the largest showing and attendance in Fotanian 2007, playing host to thousands of visitors over two weekends. The 2008 event will be held on 12, 13, 19 & 20 Jan 2008, 2:00pm – 8:00pm daily.

Michael Lee Hong Hwee is a Singapore-born artist currently based in Hong Kong and Singapore. Bio:

EMMANUEL MIEVILLE is a Paris born French sound artist and experimental musician who studied at the world renowned GRM (Groupe de Recherches Musicales) in the field of musique concrete. He also studied sound engineering and attended a cinema school. His aesthetic concern and direction as a composer originate from a desire to give the listener a shifting or blurred perception of soundscapes. Musical experiments with sound-field materials or objects and instruments are undertaken within the intuitive and dynamic stream of unconscious brain stimulations. Some of his collaborations or improvisations yielding patterns or structures, that express ideas but most of the time, the idea of musical flux lingers on his works.His tropism towards sound scapes, sound sculpting and gathering of spatials tools for composition, provides him with a better understanding and perception of sound, as a vector for social awareness and wisdom. He played for two years with a Javanese gamelan orchestra, and is interested in merging ethnic instruments into electroacoustic music. Amongst other collaborations, he has worked with several dancers for Butoh performances, with French composer/performer Eric Cordier a for live concert (2005), and with Korean video performer, Heesok Yu, for a concert. He also contributes and participates with much constancy to Framework, on Resonance FM (London), which is a radio show dedicated to field recordings.

As a follow-up project for "Dialogue with The Ghosts", a group of local experimental artists, in the eve of the Chinese Ghost Festival, continue to re-establish an on-going dialogue with the deceased. Through a series of multi-media art performance aiming to re-interpret and re-activate various local spiritual beliefs and rituals, we will dive into the world of the unknown and attempt to make contact with those from the other side. The ultimate aim, is to confront and acknowledge, those who had been forgotten, but still exist on the other side (or somewhere deep inside). Art, for us, is the ritual, through which, liberation can be attained.

Audience is invited to bring with them objects or personal belonginigs that represent their “ghost” (unfinished business), or to write down what is haunting them. These obojects and writings (ghosts) will be placed at our main installation (altar) during the performance (ritual), and be burned at the end of the performance (letting go).

All audience will receive a handmade charm and a copy of limited edition CD released by Lona Records, containing re-interpretation mix by Alok, Sin:Ned and KWC, on the sound materials of "Dialogue with the Ghosts", as recorded on July-7, 2007.

作為「異靈對話」的延續，一群本土實驗藝術創作人，於中國鬼節前夕，透過一系列重新探討本地靈異信仰及祭禮習俗的跨媒體實驗創作，再次試圖與靈對話。藝術，是我們的祭典，為已亡超度，讓未亡善存。

觀眾須帶備像徵其個人「心魔」之物件入場 (或以文字或圖像表達於現場提供的紙張上) ，並將這些物件、文字 (鬼) 於演出 (祭典) 時放於場地的主藝術裝置 (供壇) 。演出後，這些物件、文字將會由藝術家以特設儀式焚化 (超度) 。

所有入場觀眾，均獲即場手造之護身符，及由Lona Records限量印製的CD一張 (內含「異靈對話」的現場錄音塑材，並由Alok, Sin:Ned及KWC重新處理混音)。

鬼是一種怎樣的存在？是一種對人事已厭倦的存在？是一種不肯離去的回億？是一種異鄉人還是一種過客？

香港一眾精英實驗創作人及新晉聲音藝術家，聯同Embassy Projects，將透過聲音、影像、裝置藝術及互動手法等多媒體元素，邀請觀眾一同探索、重新發現及重新體驗一切有關於鬼的概念。各演出藝術家，將會以不同角度，或反思或重新理解，展開不同的異靈對話。同時，觀眾更可於演出後與眾藝術家進行交流與分享他們的鬼故事。

拼合原音樂器、電子音樂及Embassy Projects以多媒體展示的學院派研究成果，籍實驗性構思概念，帶領觀眾以交流形式啟航，體驗一次深入本土文化的破格實驗。當晚的交流成果，將會由Lona Records製作成3”CDR出版發行。

Performance description:

What is ghost? A fed up extistence of human life? A kind of lingering memories? Or a kind of alienation process?

Teaming up with Embassy Projects, a group of experimental aritists and sound artists, will invite the aduience to explore, re-invent and re-experience the concept of ghost, through a series of multi-media performance that incoperates sound, visual, installation and live interaction with the audience. Each artist will be presenting their interpretation on the concept of ghost, and creat their own dialogue with the ghosts. Audience is invited to stay as long as they want after the performnace to share their ghost stories in a chill out party.

Combining acoustic and electronic music, and the multi-media approach of Embassy Projects, this is an experimental live performance that invite the audience for direct communication and interaction. The result of this communion will be published by Lona Records in the format of 3" CD-R.

The is a diplomatic mission of breaking boundaries, between different medium, different roles and different communities. Between the existence that we know and that from the other side.

Embassy Project由Adrian Wong 及Samantha Culp策劃及主理的實驗工作室。借用學院派的研究方法，Adrian及Samantha旨在探找一種「超文化」的體驗。然而，他倆的研究重點，不在於一般學院派的統計學等陳腔濫調。他倆選擇的取向，是深入其進駐點的核心本質。他倆形容自己為外交官，游走於異地現實與夢想之間。

Embassy Projects is a newly formed collaboration between Adrian Anthony Wong and Samantha Hallie Culp. Using a research-based methodology, we seek to explore “trans-cultural” experiences –but rather than focusing on statistics, demographics, or anthropological clichés, we prefer to dig into the heart of the locations we inhabit. The result, we hope, is the experience of crawling into someone else’s head, of mapping their subjective reality, of eating breakfast with their grandparents, while offering up a bit of ourselves as well. We are agitators, architects, and ultimately, diplomats between the foreign lands of dreams and reality, self and other, childhood and everything that comes after.

Adrian Wong
生於美國芝加哥，原受訓於士丹福大學碩士學位的心理學研究，後來轉向藝術研究，並取得耶魯大學之藝術碩士。他現於香港藝術學院任教授雕刻，並於本地及海外活躍策劃多項展覽。

Adrian Wong was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Originally trained in research psychology (receiving a Master’s degree from Stanford University in 2003), he began making and exhibiting work in San Francisco while concurrently conducting experiments on young children. He continued his post graduate studies at Yale University, where he received a Master’s of Fine Arts in 2005. A recipient of the Mendelowitz Fellowship for the Arts, his recent exhibitions include “Monstrously Tranquil” at Ingalls and Associates Gallery, Miami; “Community Theatre” at ArtSpace Annex, New Haven; and “STABLE” (with Para/Site Art Space) at Embassy Projects, Hong Kong. Presently, Adrian is teaching sculpture at the Hong Kong Art School and preparing for various exhibitions in Hong Kong and abroad.

何謙信，1984 年生。大學主修創意媒體。為樂團A Company成員、﹝自稱﹞藝術家。致力研究聲響、影像、文字。

Alok
實驗音樂廠牌Lona Records 的創辦人，自1996年起已活躍於香港獨立音樂圈。其首個樂隊Pillow於1998年解散後，他與Kim 組成了Slow Tech Riddim ，開始以真實樂器結合電子音樂，並出版了兩張專輯及參與了多張合輯的製作。2001年起，他以個人身份繼續拓展其音樂領域，先後出版了三張大碟和三張三吋唱片。自2005年底，他專注於Lona Records 的發展，積極發掘世界各地的優秀音樂人/樂隊，為他們出版唱片及作推廣發行。2006年12月，他與L W T V 的現場錄音合成品於 Little Sound 出版，限量發行。

Alok曾參與現場演出無數，包括 Berlin Hong Kong Festival (2001)、Rechenzentrum Vs Slow Tech Riddim (2001)、Hong Kong international film festival closing party (2002)、Rockit festival (2004)、 Mondialito Live in Hong Kong (2005)、AGF Live in Hong Kong (2005) 和 Lona Records "Take off Your Headphone & Turn to 10" (2007) 等。

Alok, a self-taught guitarist and bassist, formed his first band Pillow early in 1996. After they disbanded in mid 98, he formed Slow Tech Riddim with Kim, when they started combining electronic music with live instruments. Together they had published two albums and contributed in numerous compilation releases. Since 2001, Alok appeared as a solo artist. He published the first 3" mini album with The Pancakes in 2001. In 2002, he set up his own record label Lona Records, and started working as a producer. From the end of 2002 to 2006, he released three albums and a few 3" cd singles. His latest collaborative work with L W T V was released on Little Sound in December 2006.

生於一九八四年情人節。現為香港城市大學創意媒體二年生。深愛讀各類書本、聆聽各類聲音作品。 2006年開始創作聲音創作。其聲音作品見於腦波交流 (BrainWave Communication) 合輯《BrainWave Communication VA》以及由小聲(Little Sound) 在今年五月出版的三吋唱片。

KWC
KWC (巢健威，又名Anytone及ok_static)，No One Pulse之策劃人之一，亦是多媒體設計共同體Sleepatwork之幕後主腦。成立於2002年，Sleepatwork之創作極其廣泛，曾指涉之範疇包括平面設計、插畫、動畫、網頁設計以至藝術項目策劃及音樂製作。其作品不但可見於不少展覽項目及書刊，他亦曾策劃多個藝術項目如 ”Media Jam”, “60 Seconds”, “A2 Exhibition” 等。其作品一覽，可詳見於 http://www.sleepatwork.com/。與此同時，他亦曾以ok_static名義自家製作raster-noton式的電子雜音專輯。

KWC (Chau Kin-Wai, aka Anytone and ok_static), one of the founding members of No One Pulse, also the mastermind behind Sleepatwork, a multi-media design collective founded in may 2002 with interest ranging widely from graphic design to animation, web design to music. His artworks had appeared in quite a number of exhibitions and publications. He was also the curator of various art projects such as “Media Jam”, “60 Seconds”, and “A2 Exhibition”. Beside Sleepatwork, he had also worked under the name ok_static (and in recent years, Anytone and KWC), releasing homemade CD of static and noise not unlike those from raster-noton.

Samantha Culp
生於美國羅省，畢業於耶魯大學。現任職香港中文大學，電影審查系列Superplex之創辦人，亦是南華早報等刊物之亞洲藝術文化寫手。現專注於寫作、策展及紀錄片項目。

Samantha Culp was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. As an undergraduate at Yale University, she was a recipient of several arts grants, including a Kingsley Trust Fellowship to film a documentary in the Pacific islands of Micronesia. After graduating with a BA in Literature, she moved to Hong Kong to teach at the Chinese University as a Yale-China Fellow. She founded the film screening series "Superplex" at the Chinese University, and writes on contemporary Asian arts and culture for publications such as the South China Morning Post, Shift, The Fader, and RES. She is currently working on various writing, curating, and film projects, such as a documentary about Chungking Mansions and an overseas traveling exhibit of young Hong Kong artists for the 10th anniversary of July 1, 1997. She is also a summer 2007 FUSE Artist-in-Residence at Videotage.

何嘉進﹐二十三歲﹐不善辭令卻愛製造聲音﹐也寫作。他的首張個人作品“Politely We Grow Old”於2006年發表於Lona Records名下。

Sin:Ned
Sin:Ned (黃仲輝)，樂評人、實驗電音及聲音藝術創作人。 Sin:Ned 最早出現於香港另類音樂雜誌 MCB (音樂殖民地)，擅長以實驗性文體及偏險的理論化角度進行音樂論述。除 MCB外，其音樂論述文字亦散見於《號外》、《明報》等不同刋物。其後，更進一步沉迷以電腦軟體及各種非正統發聲工具製樂。一度是網上音樂共同體Tapegerm之成員，於2003年亦曾出演《香港視野音樂節》(Sound & Vision Festival) 之Media Jam項目《Survival Kit》。早期創作可見於《Music For Your Beautiful Boy》、《Mondisk》、《MCB200》、Alok的《29 Minutes From The End》及Tapegerm共同體的多款合輯。他的首兩張個人作品《Uroborus: A Study On No-input Device》及《60 Seconds: A Schizophrenic Manual For Eternity》，均於2006年發表於Lona Records名下。2006年， Sin:Ned與多媒體創作共同體Sleepatwork之主腦巢健威組成概念組合No One Pulse，並分別於香港的Lona Records及中國的Little Sound發表了二步曲實驗電音專輯《Tele》及《Pathic》。

Sin:Ned (Wong Chung-Fai), an idiosyncratic writer and a sonic junkie from Hong Kong, hacks and twists anything he can put his hands on. One of the major contributing writers of the legendary Hong Kong alternative music magazine MCB. While not writing as a pseudo-music critic elaborating his esoteric worldview, in the same idiosyncratic fashion, he spends much of his time hacking and sculpting sonic materials with his laptop and various electronic gears. Used to be a member of the internet-based music collective Tapegerm, and had also performed as a sonic improviser in the “Media Jam – Survival Kit” of 03 HK Sound And Vision Festival. Some of his earlier sound works can be found in various releases such as “Music For Your Beautiful Boy”, “Mondisk”, “MCB200”, Alok’s “29 Minutes From The End” and several compilations released by the Tapegerm collective. His first two solo works, “Uroborus: A Study On No-input Device” and “60 Seconds: A Schizophrenic Manual For Eternity”, were both released by Lona Records in 2006. In 2006, Sin:Ned formed a concept group, No One Pulse, with his long time collaborator Chau Kin-Wai (Sleepatwork), and released first two installments of their experimentation, “Tele” and “Pathic” , under Lona Records (Hong Kong) and Little Sound (China) respectively.

Wilson Tsang
曾永曦，自幼隨母研習古典鋼琴，其後受外國多種音樂潮流影響下，開始探索不同之音樂風格，包括搖滾、民謠、爵士怨曲等，並于九十年代初正式以業餘身份進入香港獨立音樂圈子。在1993 年，曾創作及演出首個個人音樂會“熱壼仔音樂故事”，作為當年藝穗節節目之一；于95年，曾與本地作家小西及朗天合作，創作“給阿米巴節信”——一個結合舞臺，音樂及動作之劇場；在97年，曾與另一本地音樂人潘德恕合作，舉行多媒體音樂舞蹈劇場“極樂世界一九九七”，並邀請日本編舞者松島誠進行創作，曾亦於此演出中同時以樂手及演員身份出現，於年末，其音樂部份亦以CD形式公開發行。98年初曾再度參與藝穗節，並進行其第二個個人音樂創作劇“卵石屋之歌”，並請來本地錄影人盧燕珊負責視像及服裝設計；由’00年至’02年間，曾亦3度被澳門石頭公社邀請，參與當地之街頭文化活動。除了音樂創作之外，曾亦同時活躍於本地之視藝工作包括公開其畫作及參與不同大小的展覽，曾並為本港不同之刊物及雜誌作插圖；于96年，曾編繪及出版其創作故事集“12 Tales in 11 Monochromes”，並得到香港藝術發展局資助。曾現職平面設計師。

Wilson first learned music in his early childhood from his mother. Influence started from early 80's pop sound including rock, electronic and Jazz. Later by chance he was exposed to the more alternative world of music including John Zorn, Tom Waits as well as the disbanded local group The Box, that opened up his ear to a greater music language. For the last 10 years he had been more inclined in exploring sound for media such as theatres and video art until early 2003, with the help of a friend, he released his first solo CD "Stuck in Traffic" and since then he became more focused on making songs and music that he could "play on stage". The 2nd album "Little Cold Red", released with Harbour Records, was a more in-depth collection of such effort. Recently he start shifting his focus back to theatre music to discover the possiblities and roles of music, particularly as a minimalistic expession as well as story-teller.

限量限时的听游记开始报名了！每车2到3名观众，每天4到6趟行车，每城4到6车，仅在周末活动，艺术家本人将参加开幕当天的作品实施。台湾艺术家林其蔚、许雅筑将会朗诵街景文字。北京艺术家张安定（Zafka）甚至邀请观众提前两个月和他一起准备、完成作品……请先阅读各个城市的听游记方案，然后选择你想要参与的作品，告诉我们你希望参与的日期（请注意大声展在各城的开幕和持续日期）和备选日期（你也可以写上为“随便哪天我都愿意参加”）；当然，你需要提供简单的自我介绍、职业、年龄、联系电话。请注意，在报名邮件主题栏内填写“听游记报名”。确认后我们会通过邮件和电话和你联系。

关于我们的城市，我们所认知的，都只是视觉的表像。

我们的地图，教我们用眼去分辨方向，我们的照片、绘像，亦只是视觉的叙述。

我们只惯于描述，以肉眼所见，思考，以视觉的模式。

城市的声音呢? 它在向我们诉说着甚么? 我们从没有认真的关注过。

因为我们只懂看，却不懂聆听。去聆听我们的城市，我们有理由相信，这是通往城市本质的大门。

在这个大前题底下，我们以声音作为切入点，深入广州市的一角，以聆听方法探索，城市的核心本质。她的灵魂，我们相信，在她的声音里面。

向外的探索，源声音的路线，最终发现，前面指向着的，是一个形体化的潜意识世界。犹如一门城市心理分析。

在天河计算机城的新建商厦群中间，我们游走于破旧不见天日的石牌村。聆听着，这样的一件硕大的活化石在呼吸，在蠕动。城中村，人们如是形容。

在东山河浦区，我们穿梭于小街曲巷，在外表宁静和谐的氛围中，听着，一种精神分裂式的复合境况。从前富裕人家的别院遗址、残存的贫民居所、贵族幼儿学府与外省劳工的档子，还有历史文化遗址及经改建而成的艺术空间，全肩碰肩地，近乎不真实地，或并列并排，或咫尺对望。有一种声音，欲言还休，想嘶裂，但哑口无言。

我们如声音拾荒者，将所听所闻，消化、重整，尝试以车子引路，去超越视觉之表像，以声音的角度。你听到的，将不仅是你所见。声音，比表像深，因为它指向着城的本质，比如灵魂。

听游记（Moving Soundscape）

交通工具已经变成我们和世界沟通的一种必需。我们的身体不断移动，从这里到那里；城市也在移动、变形，从过去到未来。虽然不是每个人都拥有汽车，但是每个人都通过它，来实现移动，来穿行，并体会到城市的形体、形体之下的秘密。熟视无睹的声音，每天充斥在熟视无睹的城市中，我们和我们的耳朵一起，穿过道路，穿过时间，体验到了想要体验到的那些东西，也和更多的擦肩而过。最熟悉的风景，也是最陌生和新鲜的风景。听游记是一组利用行驶的汽车来创作的声音艺术作品。或者说，听游记是一组利用城市来创作的声音艺术作品。这个想法也许要追溯到1960年代的达达追随者和激浪派艺术家，甚至更早，到1913年，路易吉·卢索诺（Luigi Russolo）的《噪音的艺术》（The Art of Noise）；但也许只是我们对周遭环境的一种本能反应。探索我们身处其中的城市、以新的角度加入它、和它对话、和它共谋；或者，探索我们的身体，在运动中，在封闭的小空间里检视它，让它体验。这都是可能的。而当我们宣称一切皆有可能的时候，可能性已经淹没在太多的可能性之中，它自己也要去探索、唤醒、体验，重新聆听。听游记是一场出游，只要你带着耳朵，上车。你将听到汽车的哼唱（发动机和车体振动）、城市的呼吸（无所不在的环境噪音），然后是艺术家的选择和创造，他们可能会从城市的角落收集声音碎片，可能把纷乱的街景当成诗歌来朗诵，可能用新技术延伸感官和想象，也可能只是制造噪音——在充满噪音的生活中，还有什么比重新品尝噪音更有趣的？在四个城市的大声展开幕当天，艺术家还会坐进汽车，和观众一起体验，或者说，一起创作。所有的观众，都需要提前报名；有的观众，会从准备阶段就加入创作；这些作品也不限于汽车，相关的网络、出版、延续活动，会和声音一样来来去去，相互关联。这场出游早已开始，在某个不经意聆听无用之物的瞬间，在远处的铃声、音乐声勾起想象的瞬间，在风吹着车窗、让人出神的瞬间，我们已经开始享受风景。(颜峻)
